Einstein's Riddle

Guest Sunday, September 6, 2009 at 8:11 PM

It would have been quite difficult for Albert Einstein to have proposed this riddle early in the 19th century.  That is unless there was a previous Albert Einstein before the famous one that worked on the theory of relativity who was born in 1879 which is late in the 19th century.

it was the german who owns the fish, right? i've just solved it...i found it quite simple...

That was supposed to a hard riddle? I read the first sentence of the riddle and BAM! I figured it out. I do that a lot. I don't know why or how so don't ask.

I think most people wont admit that they couldn't do the riddle, and you lot are just the same. You have to work out everything about the fish owner not just their nationaity and you're right, it isn't hard but it does take a long time unless you're a very good guesser.

I solved the riddle OK, but it took me about two hours.

Really it was german who own the fish

i think he create it by the reverse methods he fill the tables then he remove one space then he said i create this puzzle but really it is so easy  if as he said 98% will not solve it i think he is wrong it must be 98% will solve it

i dont remember the answer i got, i believe it was the German, but it was just a matter of sticking to it. its not a question of intelligence, more so a question of ones patience in solving one clue at a time and looking at it arbitrarily enough to not get frustrated.

i think its quite awful to say that only 2% of people of that time got it's answer unless only 2% tried it.

Guest Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 12:00 AM

it was sooooo easy i dot it right first tryit was the german

It's funny so many of you saying you solved the riddle right away, misspelled and left words out your post. Ever heard of proofreading?

Guest Friday, September 24, 2010 at 8:32 PM

The answer seems to be that the german owns the fish, but it is actually impossible to answer it either right or wrong because it was never stated that the fish was actually the fifth pet. That is where the 2% comes in.

yeah it took about 45 minutes to finish it, obviously it doesn't count if you just guess, guys. the clues only leave one hole in the board so don't play it off as a mind game and the fish not being implied...it's a pretty straight forward game. Anyway, if you look at the chalkboard behind Einstein in the picture next to the answer, it looks he solved the problem via mathematical formula not a grid and sort of guess and check method. I think it meant only 2% of people in the world would have solved that riddle using math instead of a sketch board. Otherwise it was rather easy. 20% maybe?

it was pretty easy, how can only 2% of the world population figure it out? it took me half an hour first try and i'm 15..

Here's my riddle.
WADDELL FIELDS' RIDDLE - A MODIFICATION FROM ALBERT EINSTEIN'S RIDDLE
Albert Einstein wrote his riddle early during the 20th century. He said that 98% of the world population at that time would not be able to solve it. I took Albert Einstein's Riddle and made it a bit harder for the 21th century.
1. In this riddle there are only five different colors.
2. There are five Boxes in a row one of each color.
3. In each Box is a Triangle, one of each color.
4. In each Box is a Square, one of each color.
5. In each Box is a Circle, one of each color.
6. In each Box is a Rectangle, one of each color.
7. No objects in a Box have the same color nor the color of the Box.

THE QUESTION: WHICH COLOR BOX HAS THE WHITE RECTANGLE?

HINTS
1. The Yellow Triangle in a White Box.
2. The Green Triangle is in the Box with the Yellow Rectangle.
3. The White Triangle is in the Box with the Yellow Square.
4. The Yellow Box is next to, and on the left of the Blue Box.
5. The Yellow Box has in it a Green Square.
6. The Box with the Green Circle also has a Red Rectangle.
7. The Green Box has in it a Yellow Circle.
8. The center Box has in it a Blue Square.
9. The Box with the Red Triangle is the first Box.
10. The Box with the Blue Circle is next to the one with the Blue Rectangle.
11. The Box with the Green Rectangle is next to the Box with the Yellow Circle.
12. The Box with the White Circle also has a Red Square.
13. The Blue Triangle is in the Box with the Red Circle.
14. The Box with the Red Triangle is next to the Red Box.
15. The Box with the Blue Circle is next to the Box with the White Square.

Ad 2.) What is important to know is that you don't have to guess the real value of the Company, but what People are willing to pay for the shares. If a share price rises, this often continues very long because People still buy the shares because they think there is a "greater fool" who will pay even more for them. This usually continues until there are not enough "greater fools" anymore. A good example are the Shares of Apple Inc., which are already heavily overpriced, but their Price is still rising.

Of course it is not easy to predict the future Price of a share, otherwise their would be much more People who get rich just by buying and selling shares.
