ANSWER


In Greek mythology, the "fates" are the three daughters of Themis, the Goddess of Necessity. Their names are Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos. The idea is that life is a fabric, made up of individual threads, and these threads are our individual lives. Clotho spins the thread, Lachesis measures the thread, and Atropos cuts the thread, thus determining the moment of our death.
