The Manbottle Library

ANSWER

Greenspan was a professional musician. After studying briefly at Juilliard, he toured with Henry Jerome's swing band, playing clarinet, saxophone, and flute. During twenty minute breaks between sets he would go to the library and read books. According to Greenspan, his choice to read books on economics was completely by chance - "If I had turned left instead of right (in the library), I may have ended up as a physicist for all I know."
