Follow-up: The Cubans didn't make it to US shore. They were picked up at sea by the Coast Guard and returned to Cuba. And their beautiful "Junkyard Wars" 51 Chevy, complete with working propeller driven from the truck's drive shaft, was deemed "unseaworthy" and scuttled. It's now sitting on the bottom of the sea somewhere in the Florida Straits. Too bad... I would have loved to see them drive that sucker up US 1.
