According to Diane Ravitch, author of the new book The Language Police, several seemingly common, everyday words, including the term "snow cone", are so politically incorrect as to be excluded from school textbooks and standardized tests.
Maybe I'm missing something here, and I'll feel really stupid later when I realize what it is, but what exactly is so politically incorrect about "snow cone"?
