When L. Philip Cote, owner of French Cleaners in West Hartford, Connecticut, began getting complaints from customers about the name of his dry-cleaning establishment, he changed the name to Freedom Cleaners, according to the Boston Globe.
This drew even more complaints, this time from other customers who felt he should have kept the original name that the business has had for the past 92 years.
So Cote did what any good American would do, he put it to a vote. He polled his customers, and the majority preferred to keep the original name, so he is now changing it back to "French Cleaners".
