Beavers outsmart officials; town surrenders
Apparently the town of Knowlton Township, New Jersey, has given up in their efforts to stop the beavers whose dams are flooding their city.
Mayor Frank Van Horn has designated June 21 as Knowlton Township Beaver Day, in a resolution saying "Whereas, neither Department of Public Works director, nor engineer, nor game warden, nor mayor has been able to outsmart the mighty beavers of Knowlton Township..."
Van Horn added, "[The beavers] have probably been to some Ivy League school, they beat us all the time."
(It takes a big man to admit when he's been whipped by a beaver.)
