The AP reports that in Vietnam they are having a problem with an increasing rat population. It seems the number of rats is increasing because the population of their natural predators, cats and snakes, is decreasing. The cats and snakes are becoming scarce because they are being served as food in restaurants.
They have come up with a unique solution to the problem - they now serve rat meat in restaurants. The sell more than 100 tons of rat meat a day. Yes... 100 tons a day - all sold as food.
