If you kids come home and tell you about the whales in Lake Michigan, don't be too hard on them, they probably learned it in school. The AP reports today that Studies Weekly Inc., a company which publishes study guides for teachers around the country, recently published an article on the annual migration of freshwater whales from Hudson Bay to the warmer waters of Lake Michigan. As you may already suspect, there are no whales in Lake Michigan, or any of the other Great Lakes. It seems they got their information from an Internet website without realizing it was a joke. (So much for scholarly research.)
