The city council of Aliso Viejo, California had scheduled a vote next week to consider passing an ordinance banning styrofoam cups. The reason? It seems their research staff had discoved the cups were manufactured using a dangerous chemical, namely dihydrogen monoxide, that could "threaten human health and safety". They cancelled the vote after discovering dihydrogen monoxide, or H20, was in fact water.
