The Amish - Reflective signs are bad, but reflective tape is okay.

The Schwartzentruber Amish, an 80 member sect, has been fined $90 because they refuse to hang red safety triangles on their horse drawn buggies. According to Reuters, they say it represents "faith in manmade symbols rather than God".
It seems this has only been an issue since they moved to Pennsylvania from Ohio a few years ago. In Ohio they were allowed to use reflective tape in place of the reflective signs, and they want to continue using the tape in Pennsylvania.
(I never realized that God had a preference in reflective safety devices.)
