A Russian leader called President Bush to try to dissuade him from going to war with Iraq. The conversation ended when Bush slammed down the phone. These are not necessarily recent events. According to the AFP, the Russian leader in question Mikhail Gorbachev, and the President Bush, was Bush senior, the 41st president.
