NPR reports that US troops in Kuwait have been issued crates of chickens to strap to the roofs of their HumVees. The chickens will be used to test for chemical warfare agents, the presence of which they will indicate by promptly dying. The shipments have been dubbed Operation KFC (Kuwaiti Fried Chicken).
