Lawrence Lemming, a recovering alcoholic, ordered a diet Coke in an Atlantic City casino, but was served a rum and Coke instead. According to the AP, Lemming realized what had happened immediately, spit out the drink, then passed out, but was not injured in the incident. Lemming attempted to sue the casino, but his case was quickly dismissed by the New Jersey Superior Court, a decision recently upheld by that state's Supreme Court.
(Personally, the goofiest part of this story is that the guy's name is "Larry Lemming". Sounds like the name of an incompetent gangster: "Yo, whatever happened to Larry the Lemming?" "Yeah, he took a walk off a cliff, if you know what I mean.")
