Leonardo Diaz was hiking in the Andes mountains when he found himself stranded by a blizzard, according to a recent report from Reuters. When he realized he might be in trouble he reached for his cell phone to call for help. Unfortunately, it was one of those pre-paid deals, and he was out of minutes.
He very likely would have died on the side of the mountain, except that 24 hours into his ordeal, his cell phone rang. It was a tele-marketer from the cell phone company, calling to remind him that he was out of minutes, and ask if he would like to purchase some more time.
