Remember the movie "Free Willy" about the killer whale he was eventually set free by a little boy? Ever wonder what happened to the real whale? Well, a team of American conservationists have so far spent $15 million trying to free Keiko, the real whale who played the title role in the movie. They lead him out to sea and introduce him to pods of other killer whales. The problem is, every time they take Keiko out to sea and drop him off, he just follows the boats back home. Kind of like a puppy dog.
Did anyone ever stop to think that maybe Keiko doesn't want to be free? Maybe, just maybe, he prefers the safety, companionship, and free food of his human keepers to having to fend for himself out in the wild?
