According to The Guardian, on the island of Orkney (UK) it is illegal to fish for Salmon on Sunday. Recently about 100,000 salmon from a local fish farm escaped into the harbor. On Sunday. The locals started fishing like crazy.
"At about 3am the police came and said it was illegal to fish for salmon on a Sunday, so people said they were fishing for pollack and had no intention of catching salmon." said visiting Londoner Diarmaid Fleming.
Given the unusual situation, and the impracticality of enforcement, the local police decided not to enforce that particular law that Sunday.
